Big Fish In A Wide OPen Space

Big Fish In A Wide OPen Space

Big Fish Little Fish are working with top trance producer Greg Downey and ex-Mansun vocalist Paul Draper on their awesome new version of the classic 'Wide OPen Space'. Mansun's original was a massive record for Parlaphone/EMI back in 1996 and was subsequently remixed by Paul Oakenfold. Now titled '(I'm In A) Wide OPen Space' Gerg and Paul have brought the track bang up to date turning it once again into a soaring club anthem.

This new version of the Mansun clasic will now be released via EMI/Newstate Recordings.

The republic of loose (various remixes)

The Republic Of Loose (Various Remixes)

Hailing from Dublin, the emerald isle, the republic of loose are one of the biggest domestic acts in ireland. a hybrid of sly stone, n.e.r.d and the fun lovin' criminals with an irish lilt this band are probably one of ireland's best kept secrets. The loose were nominated for 2 irish meteor awards this year (irish grammy's) - best irish act and best live performance.

Having recorded four albums including one for v2 records and rocked the country's biggest festivals (including oxygen) the collective are now set to support u2 at the band's homecoming gigs at croke park this summer!

Big fish little fish are currently working with ‘the loose’ on remixes of some of their key singles. First out the box is bybrighton up-and-comer clive mead who takes the band's recent radio hit ('comeback girl') and reworks it into a funky french tinted number, dripping with sunshine and feel-good factor. There's also a deeper dub for the vocally alergic djs out there.

In the words of the band themselves "we feckin' love it!!!"

Boy George - Yes We Can

Boy George - Yes We Can

Boy George’s unique vocals are instantly recognisable and have been responsible for the sale of millions of albums worldwide. The man whose unique style has always been as important as his music, and who has remained in the public eye for 25 years; his international career as DJ and musician, his fashion label B-Rude… But first and foremost Boy George is a musician and artist of exceptional talent and his series of concerts provide a perfect performance platform for one of the music scene’s most successful and popular performers.

'Yes We Can' was inspired by the recent victory of one Mr.Obama and is refreshingly positive in these times of doom and gloom. The club mixes by some of the World's most respected dance producers are well worth checking out. Original Junior Boys legend Pete Heller puts down a deep Balearic vibe whereas tribal house favourite Tom Stephan does his drum heavy thing. Big fish Little fish music secured and negotiated overseas licenses for ‘Yes We Can’.

Tastemakers - 'Addict' feat. Therese

Tastemakers - 'Addict' feat. Therese

This beautifully evocative vocal track features the voice of none other than Swedish lovely, Therese (Stonebridge- 'Put Em High').

The catchy melodies and grooving bass-line help this track to stand out, juxtaposed against the luscious ambience of the emotive breakdown sections.

With a unique vibe, sound and groove, accompanied by the fantastic vocals from the chart hitting Therese, 'Addict' has a huge potential of making it big on the dance scene, with the potential of crossing over to the mainstream.

Steve Mac ‘Paddy’s Revenge’ (3 Beat Records)

This is what happens when we think outside the box. Some mad idea to merge Irish folk with techno gave birth to the monster that is ‘Paddy’s Revenge’. The tune went on to the Radio 1 A-list after support from every name DJ under the sun in Ibiza this year and then hit the UK chart at No17 after being a number 1 Cool Cuts, Buzz Chart and Club Chart record.

‘Paddy’s Revenge’ has since been licensed to over 15 territories Worldwide and will continue to annoy everyone for years to come. Hopefully!

Big Fish Little Fish came up with the original idea, took care of sample replays and publishing clearance as well as finding the right home for the record and guiding it through to release.

Atalanta

Atalanta

Time to chill…we all need to kick back sometimes. Brighton act Atalanta provide a lazy and beautiful sound track, which combines live playing with electronic wizardry.

Big Fish Little Fish is currently helping finish off what is sounding like a great album with a few featured vocalists as well as looking after licensing and even artwork. Well, someone has to!

In a town otherwise obsessed with trendy hair cut guitar bands and the heavier side of dance club beats come Brighton’s Atalanta; providing an altogether more laidback and less affected alternative music policy.

This new act is the creation of coastal native Clive Mead, a DJ/producer with over 20 years experience of making music for clubs, sofas and screens.

Atalanta make beautifully lush down tempo tunes bundled up in jazz, funk, soul and electronica. This is no super market muzak or watered down chill out nonsense though, but real deal hardcore ‘Lounge’. Part head music, part film soundtrack, the Atalanta sound effortlessly blends the organic with the electronic, the live with the programmed and the blissful with the melancholic.

Painstakingly pieced together with live instrumentation and imbued with some beautiful guest vocals, Mead has created a world of moody Balearica. Lush strings collide with big band beats and sublime vocals from the likes of ex-Poloroid songstress, Dan Rowe to create this unique sound.

Dan takes to the mic on three of the cuts from the debut ‘Blue Tears’. Her trademark song-writing ability and gorgeously child like vocal style has seen her music score top 30 hits (‘So Damn Beautiful’) and used in movies and TV shows such as Human Traffic and Nip/Tuck. Dan’s voice fits the Atlanta sound like the proverbial glove.

Atalanta has already had music used by national TV network NBC in the USA, with 5 tracks being used in a documentary called ‘The Real Cost Of Living. Compilation requests are also stacking up as the summer approaches.

‘Blue Tears’, Atalanta’s debut album could just be the down tempo soundtrack to this Summer and if nothing else is the almost perfect accompaniment to an unpredictable day out on England’s South Coast.
